Journalism in India

India – World’s largest democracy with the second highest population of around 113 Crore.(Source- www.indexmundi.com), Journalism in India means envisaging a country where Crores of  people are living below poverty line( source- www.indexmundi.com),  Lakhs of skilled people are fighting for employment, names of thousands of politicians are being registered under corruption cases. Per month hundreds of people get infected with HIV virus… Around 48 farmers commits suicide in Vidarbha within a month (Source- economictimes article ), In city like Bangalore, one of the cleanest  cities of the country, more than one person is dieing of Swine Flu daily.

I always remains in a dilemma that whether Journalism in India is a tough job or an easy task , because here people are never ready to reveal truth. But at the same time when such enormous information is yet to be revealed then there must be a lot perspectives for a Journalist to reveal the hidden reality within the society. As you step out of your home you can find the Story Idea.

In the country where politicians are sucking people’s lives, then will it be possible for a Journalist to express himself? But isn’t it a  best moment to start with the Journalism because these corrupt politicians are themselves making environment for you to write or speak  about.

Today, when large number of people still cannot read and write, not aware of there rights and duties, how the hell you will be able to do the journalism? but in contrast, isn’t it the best opportunity for you  to make people aware of their existence in this Democracy and do justice with your work as it is the primary job of a journalist.

At the end, You will always be opposed in this country to raise your voice, but don’t you think it is the best time to speak when everybody is silent, I am here for Journalism Because I want to be heard, Yes India!! I am ready!
